Announcing the 2025 Scouts of the Year Award Nominations

The Grand Canyon Council is thrilled to launch the 2025 “Scouts of the Year” award nominations! This prestigious honor recognizes Scouts who have exhibited exceptional Scout spirit, leadership, heroism, community service, or citizenship in their Scout unit and personal lives. We are excited to celebrate these extraordinary individuals who represent the core values of Scouting.

Nomination and Application Deadline: October 31, 2024

We are accepting nominations from both unit leaders and Scouts themselves.

How to Nominate Scouts of the Year:

If you know a Scout who excels and represents Scout values, now’s the time to recognize them! Fill out the “Scouts of the Year Award Nomination Form“ to highlight their outstanding qualities and achievements. Your nomination helps us honor those who stand out.

How to Apply for the Scouts of the Year Award: 

If you’re a Scout with dedication and commitment, we encourage you to apply for the “Scouts of the Year” award! Use the “Scouts of the Year Award Application Form” to share your experiences, achievements, and how you live out Scout values every day. This is your chance to showcase your journey. (Parents can assist with details, including email and phone number.)

The Path of the Scouts of the Year:

Scouts of the Year will be in the spotlight throughout 2025! Their inspiring stories will be featured in a series of videos, celebrating their achievements and motivating others.

Selected Scouts will kick off this path with a video shoot (details to be announced). They’ll also be honored at Grand Canyon Council events and featured in The HUB and other GCC publications. To complete their recognition, they’ll need to attend at least two council events and a council Executive Board Meeting in 2025.

Q: Do I need to be a specific rank to apply for the Scouts of the Year award?

A: No, there’s no specific rank requirement. We welcome applications from Cubs up to Eagles. If a Scout has demonstrated exceptional Scout spirit, leadership, heroism, community service, or citizenship, we encourage you to submit a nomination or application.

Q: What part of the form do I need to fill out if I want to submit a video?

A: Please complete all mandatory sections of the form (as indicated) to provide your name and other necessary information. You can skip the suggested 500-word answer if you’re submitting a video. However, if you prefer to do both, that’s perfectly fine! There’s no penalty for choosing one or both options.
