Ready to enhance your leadership skills and deliver an exceptional program for your Scouts? Join us for Wood Badge 2025! This advanced leadership training takes place over two weekends at R-C Scout Ranch and is open to Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scout leaders, as well as district, council volunteers, and staff!
With immersive training in leadership theory and skills, Wood Badge equips you to provide more meaningful experiences for your Scouts. Secure your spot with a $100 deposit and register by June 19, 2025, for the early bird price of $350!
Wood Badge 2025 Event Details:
- Location: R-C Scout Ranch, 19887 Highway 260, Payson, Arizona 85541
- Weekend #1: Friday, September 19, 2025 (10:00 AM MST) – Sunday, September 21, 2025 (5:00 PM MST)
- Weekend #2: Saturday 10-04-2025 10:00 AM MST to Sunday 10-05-2025 5:00 PM MST
- Registration Deadline: September 12, 2025 (11:59 PM)
- Early Bird Registration: $350 (Sign up by June 19, 2025)
- Late Price Begins: August 20, 2025
- Deposit: $100 required to secure your spot
- Additional Requirements:
- Must attend both weekends
- Complete BSA Health and Medical Form Parts ABC
- Wear full Field Uniform for your current Scouting position

- What is Wood Badge?
- Advanced leadership training for Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scout, District, and Council leaders.
- Participants learn to:
- View Scouting globally as a family of interrelated, value-based programs that provide age-appropriate activities for youth.
- Recognize contemporary leadership concepts used in corporate America and government that are relevant to Scouting.
- Apply skills learned as part of a successful working team.
- Revitalize commitment through an inspirational experience that supports Scouting’s mission.
- What is Wood Badge?
- When should I attend Wood Badge?
- Attend as soon as possible after completing your basic training to begin applying leadership skills in your unit, district, or council.
- When should I attend Wood Badge?
- Are the leadership skills taught specific to Scouting?
- Although taught within a Scouting framework, the skills are universal and can be applied in work and other non-Scouting activities.
- Are the leadership skills taught specific to Scouting?
- Is overnight camping required?
- Yes, participants will spend two nights in tents during the second weekend. You and your patrol are responsible for your gear and for transporting it to and from the campsite.
- Am I responsible for my own food?
- First weekend: Meals are prepared by a cook crew in the dining hall.
- Second weekend: Patrols will prepare meals based on a menu they decide. Please notify us of any special dietary restrictions.

- What is the Wood Badge Ticket?
- The Ticket is a series of projects or goals that participants work on after completing the outdoor portion of the course. The goals are designed to help apply leadership skills in your Scouting role and support the program at various levels. You will have up to 18 months to complete your Ticket.
- What is the Wood Badge Ticket?
- Is a uniform required?
- Yes, participants will wear both the field uniform (Class A) and activity uniform, which includes a Scouting t-shirt or polo with uniform pants or shorts.
