Online applications are more accurate, more secure so youth can benefit from the Scouting program faster and adult background checks can be completed more efficiently. This service fee is intended to motivate our Scout families towards online applications.

Unit Level Dues:

To cover the costs of awards and recognition, crafts, and special events most local units have program dues. Units may offer opportunities to conduct fundraisers to offset these costs.  Dues are established by the families in the unit through the unit committee. Most units charge a small upfront fee and not the full years program cost so families have an opportunity to participate in fundraisers.

Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers and is a joining requirement. New to Scouting? Click here to login and take Youth Protection training.

The quality of the program and the safety of our youth members call for high-quality adult leaders. Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. To take Youth Protection training go to My.Scouting.org and create an account. You’ll receive an email notification with your account information, including a member ID/reference number. You do not have to be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America to take Youth Protection training.

Returning Scouts:

The updated membership fees will take effect May 1, 2024, for members in the 2024 program year.

Absolutely! While most extracurricular activities are seasonal, Scouting is a year-round program that remains one of the most valuable investments we can make to support young men and women today so they can become the leaders we will turn to tomorrow.

For a youth application, any of the Key 3 for the unit can login to my.scouting and go to Application Manager and accept the application. For an adult application, the COR or COR Delegate needs to login to my.scouting and go to Application Manager and accept the application. The online guidebook has further instructions and screenshots that explain how this is done.
